Services

East Albany Animal Clinic is a limited service not-for-profit clinic emphasizing affordable spay-neuter and preventive care.  Preventive care includes internal and external parasite control, weight management, vaccination and dental care.  Some Purina Pro Plan and Purina Veterinary Diets are stocked and all are easily ordered with 2-3 day delivery.  We use the Nobivac line of vaccines backed by the company’s Vaccine Insurance Policy.  Rabies vaccination with 1-year duration and 3-year duration are available.  Any first-time Rabies vaccination must be boosted one year later, at which time a 3-year vaccine may be given.  Since 1994, Dr. Freeland has followed guidelines for three year vaccination cycles for many cat and dog diseases.  The phrase “annual vaccinations” is no longer valid and each pet should be considered unique in its vaccination types and frequency.

Sample fees for individual services can be found in our “Financial Center” under the “Sample Fees” tab.

Being an affordable, not-for-profit clinic with one veterinarian brings some important considerations; especially the following:

Appointment are required.  Scheduling up to two weeks in advance may be necessary.  We also accept pre-arranged drop off patients for owners whose work hours do not permit appointment scheduling. Click to Request an Appointment online.

Emergency & Urgent Care

Dr. Freeland, or occasionally an on-call veterinarian, is available at all times for emergency care for established clients.  During business hours it is best to call before coming so preparations or referral to another clinic can be made if necessary.   After hours, call (229) 432-0717 and you will be directed to the emergency phone number.  Please be near, but not on, the phone and expect a call back within 10 minutes.

For urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, we will work to fit you in between scheduled appointments or you may drop off your pet. When you arrive, we will make a rapid assessment of your pet’s condition and give a best estimate on how long your pet may wait for a more thorough examination.  In some situations, you may be referred to another local hospital.

Dr. Freeland provides care for dogs and cats only.  After many years working in Albany, he has developed referral contacts for other kinds of pets and for advanced care of dogs and cats.  However, availability of care for birds, reptiles, pocket pets and other exotics is limited in southwest Georgia.

Payments

East Albany Animal Clinic accepts payment via cash, check, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We require payment be made at the time of service unless arrangements are made in advance.  A form of photo id is required for checks or when credit is extended.  We also offer payment plans through CareCredit and All Pet Card. Pet insurance is available from numerous companies and may be an excellent investment especially if purchased while your pet is young.  See more information under Payment Options.

Our Mission

Besides providing affordable spay/neuter, preventive care and general sick care and surgeries for dogs and cats, one of our goals is to also reduce breeding of cats and dogs. If you intend to breed your pet, we ask that you please seek services elsewhere.

Low-Cost Clinic

Our clinic is a low-cost clinic focused on providing quality veterinary care to those who may not be able to financially manage a large bill. That said, our services are not free and we do require payment at the time services are rendered.
