Welcome To East Albany Animal Clinic

Your Pet's Safety Net

In summer of 1952 vacant lots at the corner of West Rd and Sylvester Rd(now East Broad Ave )were sold. The sale contained expressed demands that any building be of block construction and no “juke joints” allowed. Dr. W.D. Young built a veterinary clinic and we suspect began service in January 1953 as The East Albany Animal Clinic. When phone numbers were 4 digits and Rabies vaccination cost $2.00. And the birth month and year of Dr. Fred Freeland.

It’s a little humbling operating a veterinary clinic that has provided services as long as I have been alive.

After taking ownership in March 2000, the history of the clinic has landed as a 501(c)(3) not-for profit clinic seeking to help pet owners who find themselves in difficult financial times. And as the result of a trademark infringement issue, we are returning to the original name of East Albany Animal Clinic.

Our mission is to provide affordable spay/neuter, preventive care and general sick care and surgeries for dogs and cats. We seek to provide owners with knowledge about all care options and costs so an appropriate choice may be selected for their circumstances.
